Today Is The Lord's Day

The reason this is so important to me is because of the eternal element.  We live in the temporary; just in a “moment” our time on earth will be through.  Because of this the most important thing a person should do is to settle the question of, “what happens the moment I die.”  Since this is the most important life decision, this should be the first way I help any person that I ever know or that may hear me speak.  It really is that simple.  What is more important in this “moment”? 

If every believer on earth would personally lead one person to the Lord each year we would be amazed at what would happen world- wide.  If every Christian parent would personally lead just one of their children to the Lord it would make a world- wide impact.   

Why is this not happening?  They do not know: 1) that the Holy Spirit lives in them 2) that God sees them already in heaven because they are “in Christ” Who is seated at His right hand.

Why is this so significant? You can’t be passionate and contagious about something that is vague to you.  God is vague to the majority of Christians in our day.  Children will not see Christ in Grandfather, Grandmother, Father, and Mother so they will not be the ones who lead them to the Lord. Best friends and co-workers will not see Christ in the believer and will never be led to the Lord through their witness.  To the contrary, their life and countenance show, it doesn’t work. 

Because of this, the most important thing a human being can do, in their brief moment on earth as a believer, is not happening. 

I know the only answer to this is to share with believers everywhere in simple language that Christ lives in and through the believer and that He sees them already eternally “in Christ, in heaven.” 

Once known, something “special” happens.  Samuel Logan Brengle says it well, “I shall never forget my joy, mingled with awe and wonder, when this dawned upon my consciousness.  Instantly my heart was melted like wax before fire. My soul was filled with unutterable love. I walked in a heaven of love.” 

This begins the healing of damaged emotions in the soul of a child of God.  The damaged emotions resulting in wrong thinking, wrong actions, and wrong feelings causes the believer to have a subdued countenance and  fruitless Christian life.  Yes we were born “in Adam” this is why our souls are so dysfunctional, inherited sin.  Because we were born “in Adam” we are programmed Adam’s way (selfish). We seek significance, security, and a sense of belonging in possessions and human relationships (even our mates).  This is wrong.  Only God can meet these needs 100%. Our human relationships, even our closets family members cannot come close.  We become frustrated relationally when these needs are not met and we begin to reject people we think are holding us back from being 100% fulfilled.  They can’t meet this need, never could and never will. 

Because we have Adam on our tape recorder although we are children of God we walk as if we still are in Adam instead of walking in light of the fact that I am now in Christ and the power by which I live is not I but the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in me. 

Frustrated Ministers trying to rally the people for the cause of God say things like 1) they are not saved 2) they don’t love God 3) they don’t walk the walk 4) they need to study hard and memorize scripture 5) they need to be soul-winners etc. 

I say. They are rich, but don’t know it. I will tell them.  

The worst way to motivate and try to help people is to use guilt and ridicule.  Think about it.  Has God been patient with you?  How many times? Over and over and over again.  He was patient with you, today.  Who are we not to be the same way with others?  

The same way people need the truth of the gospel for salvation, believers need the truth of “Christ in you” and “you in Christ” for a fruitful Christian life. 

I see Abiding Above Ministries being used by God to share the gospel with every person and to encourage spiritual growth in every believer by the power of the Holy Spirit and to the glory of God. 

I do not know how to do all that needs to be done.  I see the ministry as one that will continue to unfold before us as we walk through future doors.  It begins by being a simple speaking platform for me. 

I see in the future many more people being anointed to share these same truths world-wide.  I see this ministry being a hub of information to help people continue to grow in these truths and to find encouragement in the valleys.  There is plenty of material already prepared that teach these truths.  There are web sites that share these truths.  We need to simply point people to what is already available to grow in these truths.  

I believe with all my heart the only way to motivate the sleeping Christian Army we have is by this message.  Nothing else will do.  Think about it.  God can’t do anymore than He has done.  He said it is finished. Because of the death of Christ and the sending of the Holy Spirit to us.  What more do we need? Nothing. We have it all because He did it all when He died with us, we were buried with Him, we were raised with Him, and we are ascended with Him, and He now lives in the believer by the Holy Spirit.  There is nothing more for Him to do, to ready us. 

Let’s begin to walk in what we have (with the same faith) we used to ask Him to come into our human spirits, and He did!  If we say that we are certain that we are saved (He is in me now) are we as certain that we have all of our needs already met “in Him”

If this can be shared in a simple way, something big is going to happen!!!!! 

It is my prayer that God is going to put this ministry on enough hearts to support us financially that we will be free to volunteer our services wherever God sends us.  This also frees us from the temptation of saying things in a way to garner support in the midst of teaching and preaching.  It is freeing to know that expenses are covered at the home base and we are not dependent on being paid for what we do. Of course we would never carry this too far in not receiving gratefully gifts, honorariums, love offerings, etc. as we go about doing good.  But, we should purpose never to be controlled by this. 

I envision people joining us in Abiding Above Ministries who will be anointed in these truths and will have a passion for a certain people, small churches, all churches, pastor’s conferences, a particular country, Children’s Homes, prison’s, small settings for helping people to grow spiritually, retreats, one on one, and other ways and avenues that we have never thought of. 

What we do will always need to have at the forefront: 1) sharing the simple gospel to see people saved  2) sharing the truth of our identity in Christ 

I believe we will see that if this remains our primary focus it will have a supernatural effect that will be unexplainable apart from the real working of the Holy Spirit.
